About me

Still in the arena. Coaching from experience, not memory.  Executive coach & Senior Director.

I've spent more than twenty years informally coaching ambitious professionals through the moments that define careers: the promotion that brings imposter syndrome with it, the difficult conversation that's been avoided, the realisation that climbing the ladder doesn't mean much if it's leaning against the wrong wall.

Post graduate training at Henley Business School and the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, and I hold my ACC accreditation through the International Coaching Federation.  The credential my clients value most is simple: I'm still doing the work. I sit in the same meetings, navigate the same organisational politics, and face the same pressures as the people I coach. I'm not drawing on experiences from a decade ago — I'm living them in real time.

"I believe the best coaching doesn't come from someone who once did your job. It comes from someone who still does."

My coaching practice, Executive Coaching Direct, grew out of a pattern I kept seeing throughout my career. Brilliant individual contributors — the people who consistently over-deliver, who earn the trust of their clients and the respect of their peers — get promoted into leadership roles. And then they struggle. Not because they lack ability, but because nobody helped them navigate the identity shift from exceptional performer to strategic leader. The skills that made them outstanding sellers, deal-makers, or technical experts are not the same skills that make them outstanding leaders of people and strategy.

That transition — from high-performing individual contributor to strategic commercial leader — is where I do my best work.
